Theater! Music! Dance! Art!

Let them entertain you! While Eden Vale Inn B&B is nestled in the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada foothills, many performances and art walks are literally minutes away from us, every month of the year. Here are three areas full of performers.
The Harris Center / Three Stages. For world-class dance, music, and performances, the new, top-notch Harris Center is only 20 minutes away from Eden Vale Inn and has it all. It hosts an excellent variety of shows. The 2014 season features large productions like the Blue Man Group, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and Alladin. Music performers come from around the world. Music includes rock and roll, country musicians like Roseanne Cash, and musical groups from around the world. If you like classical music, you’ll enjoy the choral and orchestral performances including Branford Marsalis and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.
Movement fans are in for a treat as well. Be amazed by acrobats from China, the Royal Ballet of Cambodia, Ballet Folklórico de México, and more. The theater also puts on talks, small plays, and recitals. If you visit Eden Vale Inn during winter, you can be treated to a Cowboy Christmas, an Irish Christmas, a Pops’ Chorale, and of course the Nutcracker – performed by the Moscow Classical Ballet.
Also nearby is Historic Downtown Placerville. Many of their restaurants, wine bars, and brewpubs have live weekend music during the summer months, and through the year. Main Street becomes a center for the arts every third Saturday for its Art Walks, some of which are pedestrian festivals. Placerville’s Imagination Theater 2014 lineup includes a dramatic "Snow White," and a musical performance of "Oliver!"
Coloma and Lotus. For the closest, most interactive, super-live theater, try the Olde Coloma Theatre. It is one of the few places in the nation to see melodrama. The audience is literally given foil balls to throw at the villain who at the end of each show exclaims, “Curses, foiled again!” The original plays have no “fourth wall” and witty heckling is encouraged. Seriously, the actors want you to talk back during the show! Where else does that happen? Loads of fun. If you want to listen to live music, Coloma and Lotus eateries offer many choices in the summertime, and the towns host September’s superb American River Music Festival.
We always love to hear about your outings over our fabulous breakfasts!
