Eden-Vale-Inn-Mark-Gayle-InnkeepersPersonal Attention from Innkeepers Gayle and Mark

Linda wrote, “Gayle and Mark are such special people and their staff, Valerie and Mary, reflect their good taste. Without a doubt, it’s the best B&B we’ve ever stayed at.” Marilyn  “needed a peaceful, relaxing get- away where we would feel taken care of, and that is exactly what we got.”

Julie found Eden Vale Inn to be “an enjoyable getaway with privacy and pampering. The inn keepers were welcoming and attentive from the moment of our arrival to departure.” Colleen N. agreed – “Amazing service and the owners are so sweet.”

“Best In Class”

John gave Eden Vale Inn “Best in Class”! He loved our “immaculately appointed rooms, beautiful grounds and delightful hosts, Mark and Gayle, who had thought of every detail. Our room included a steeping tub on the private patio and early morning coffee service delivered to our door. A glass of wine by the pond was relaxing and just what we needed. You won’t find a classier B&B.”

The Best Place to Relax

Leah had a most relaxing weekend, and we can tell from her review that she really needed it! “I can’t recommend this place enough! I spent an entire Saturday in a hammock, napping, reading and listening to birds chirp. After dinner, we sat around the fire, drank wine and s’mores. Is there a better way to spend a weekend?!“ And Julie B. wrote to say, “Thank you for sharing this truly wonderful relaxing place to stay.”

Amazing Gourmet Breakfasts

Eden Vale Inn B&B Breakfast Collage gold border 600x300Laura is one of many who love our breakfasts. “We’ve stayed at quite a few B&B’s and this one is the best. Gayle and her team do incredible breakfasts. It’s really like having your own private chef. You won’t find many places that can compete at this level.”

Beautiful Grounds

Camille had such a good visit with us, because she loves to garden. She says she “was fascinated with the casual abandon of plants that were thriving — mixtures of textures and greens, so many varieties of trees and grasses, flowers and shrubs. Dispersed throughout the gardens and property were beautiful clay pots and works of art.”

Weddings, Honeymoons, and Anniversaries

Anuradha had a “great stay at the gorgeous Eden Vale Inn.” She came for a wedding and stayed 3 nights. She wrote it was “peaceful, well appointed and the food was scrumptious! Highly recommended and innkeeper Gayle was just the best. Our 6yr old daughter had a great time as well.”

Come and Get a Dog Treat!
Eden Vale Inn B&B- Bicyclist and Sydney the Wonder Dog

No, we don’t mean a biscuit – we mean Sydney, the Eden Vale Inn Wonderdog! Laura visited recently and loved everything – “The pond, the gardens, the private soaking tubs, the firepit, the stars, the s’mores, coffee ready first thing in the morning.” But what was her special mention? “Sydney the Wonderdog — part pug, part Lab — a pugador! Sydney is a sweetheart. If you vacation here and you’re a dog lover, you will be in heaven.”

Pet Friendly

Part of the Inn is reserved for humans only, and part is available for well behaved pets to bring their humans for a get-away. Marilyn was so glad to visit Eden Vale Inn with her faithful companion!

“Breakfast was delicious and we were able to sit outside on a covered deck with our dog. Eden Vale Inn is very dog-friendly and welcoming. We were limited to the rooms that allowed dogs – our room was perfect. We were able to open the doors directly onto a patio that led to the garden and could easily walk our dog. The innkeepers even provided doggie bags and dog bowls for food and water.”

STYLE Magazine: Ultimate Area Adventures

Romance and a touch of Tuscany in…Placerville!      EdenValeInnINSIDEBy SHARON PENNY
If you are looking for a romantic getaway or a mid-week respite but just don’t have the time to travel to the beach or the mountains, look no further than the fabulous Eden Vale Inn in the foothills near Placerville. Tucked away off the main roads but easily accessible, this B & B will surprise you from the minute you drive in. Originally a hay barn built in 1919, the structure then became a home and continued it’s evolution in 2006 when Mark & Gayle Hamlin purchased it, thus beginning its quest to become the unique inn it is today. Mark and Gayle are the ultimate experts on the history of the Inn and the surrounding area. They are quick to suggest places to hike, bike, swim, dine, shop and wine taste. But the property itself offers so much that you might find it difficult to venture out! The mix of rustic and ultra modern is everywhere – from the original building with it’s gorgeous stone fireplace and rough sawn beams of the main house (you have to see it, I can’t do it justice in print!) – to the chic and romantic guest rooms. Each of the seven rooms is unique. All are modern, supremely comfortable and luxuries abound. Each room has a computerized lighting system – some with a button marked “romance”. Push that and lights dim to be replaced by the flickering fire. Nice touch. We stayed in one of the ‘Penthouse’ rooms called the Madrone Room. With a view of the beautiful swimming pond, surrounding foothills, and the gorgeous firepit where you can chat with other guests, this room is the largest at the Inn. We had a table and chairs outside our door and a bottle of local red wine waiting for us complements of Mark & Gayle. There’s a kitchenette between the two penthouse rooms for use by both. Afterall, we did need a refrigerator to keep our bubbly cold! What’s a romantic getaway without champagne? Enjoy your Champagne while relaxing in your outdoor (and oh so private) soaking tub. Don’t forget to pour in the lemon verbena bath salts made locally. Ahhh.

The beautiful gardens surrounding the Inn are extensive and have been meticulously nurtured over the years by Gayle. There are benches and fountains tucked away throughout the property. A great time to take a stroll through the gardens is after enjoying the sumptuous breakfast personally planned by Gayle. You can dine indoors or out on one of the many decks. Much of the food came from Gayle’s garden or locally sourced. There is even a warm and inviting on-site spa studio where you can be pampered with single or couples massages and facials. Just book ahead for spa services. After experiencing this jewel in Placerville, I guarantee two things: first, you will have had one of the most pleasurable experiences a B & B can offer, and second, you’ll be back!

Yelp Users Love Eden Vale Inn

Sunset Magazine Recommends Eden Vale

gold-country-road-trip-eden-vale-inn-0413-lEden Vale was featured in Sunset magazine as one of the best places to stay on a Gold Country road trip! The inn was chosen because of our rustic atmosphere blended with modern luxuries such as our “stylish guest rooms with high-def TVs. Breakfast are lavish” in contrast to most Gold Country inns that seem stuck in the days of the gold rush itself with doilies and Victorian era furniture. The article also points out that our gardens will be in full bloom and in their prime, as spring is here. This is the perfect time to make your romantic getaway on our 4 acres of beautiful land. And if you’re looking for things to do while you relax at Eden Vale, the article also highlights interesting activities for you and your loved one, such as visiting the historic Marshall Gold Discovery State Park or decadent places to dine, and of course, the best places to sip our famous northern Califirnia wine. Come visit us!

We are so proud to have been featured in Sacmag. All the work we’ve done on the property has truly paid off and we can honestly say that we have a beautiful romantic getaway that will rekindle any couple’s romantic side. Another Five Star Review Eden Vale Inn B&B, Placerville, Coloma

“Just What the Doctor Ordered”  “…We will definitely be back!  …We needed a getaway so badly. Eden Vale Inn was just what the doctor ordered!” Posted on TripAdvisor March 10,2011 “The rooms feature state of the art lighting, European style showers and HD/blue ray TV’s. We really loved the modern decor, not the typical antique, country style you often see at B&B’s. The outdoor soaking tubs were a unique and lovely way to end the day.”   Copied by Innkeeper  ” We spent loads of time enjoying the garden most of all. We had a lot of fun exploring the well placed found objects of the landscape. Bowling balls, tea kettles, a ladder, birdhouses, Buddhas and fountains … and an evening around the fire pit as the sun set. Mark helped us  plan to see the area’s wineries, which offer ample complimentary tastings. Gayle’s breakfasts were  personal and delicious. All in all this was a special stay for my husband and I. .We will definitely be back!”   Reno Couple

“We loved our stay!”  Posted on Trip Advisor January 30th, 2011  “From the easy reservation process to the dog-friendly atmosphere, to the romantic setting of the room complete with remote-controlled fireplace and lighting, to the 2-person soaking tub on the private patio, to the yummy breakfast with the best scones ever…we loved our stay”   Copied by Innkeeper Feb 24, 2011   “Gayle and Mark have a wonderful place. If you want a comfortable stay in the El Dorado foothills area, this is the place.”   Accommodations include “contemporary room decorations, complimentary water and sodas, and the most comfy bed ever.  You’ll enjoy your stay!”   Written by CP Travel

“Paradise in Placerville”  Another All Five Star Review on Trip Advisor February, 18 2001.   “Amazing place! Generally my husband and I just kind of blow through Placerville California on our way to Lake Tahoe, but we decided to stay at a bed and breakfast in Placerville…I took a chance with Eden Vale after checking out their website … a choice that I am so thankful to have taken.”   Copied by Innkeeper 2-18-2011

“The inn is absolutely wonderful.   It is modern, charming and, has kept that rustic feel to it…Every intention of visiting downtown Placerville went out the window as soon as I stepped foot through the front door. The two days I was there, I didn’t leave the grounds, except to walk down the road to their neighbour’s house to check out the miniature horses. The gardens are spectacular, meandering paths, various areas to sit (I love the way the chairs are grouped together for you and a friend), lovely, lovely statues, fountains and garden art. It was total Zen and I felt so peaceful and relaxed there… Gayle and Mark have created an upscale but homey atmosphere. Walking around in my pajamas, going up the stairs for coffee or hot chocolate, grabbing a movie (from their very well selected collection) was as comfortable as being in my own home…

Being a very energetic person, it is not always easy for me to relax — I had no problem at Eden Vale. The fire pit out by the pond is fantastic at night. My husband and I had a fire both nights we were there, and we watched the stars come in and just begin to fill up the sky. It is very clear there and the sky was really lit up with stars — it reminded me of being at summer camp! I cannot say enough about the rooms — classy and comfortable, great bedding, the rain shower head in the shower was an added delight, and the soaking tubs were amazing. They are deep enough (and large enough) for two people to sit in and you sink right up to your neck! We loved the bathroom amenities that were provided.

The breakfasts were to die for — fruit bowls, scones, quiche, potatoes — my husband was in seventh heaven because he doesn’t eat that well at home! My husband and I travel quite often and have stayed in many bed and breakfast inns and this is defiantly ranked up there high amongst our favorites. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast. I definitely will be visiting Eden Vale again.”

All Five Star Review: Eden Vale Inn, Placerville CA

“Can’t say enough good things about the the Inn and folks at Eden Vale. We live just up the road in Sutter Creek, but it was the great break that we needed for two days: to celebrate a birthday and an anniversary. This B&B located near Coloma and Placerville CA is near a number of wineries and historical attractions. Mark and Gayle have done an amazing job transforming their barn and grounds into relaxing get away. The breakfasts are varied, plentiful and good and,  served in a sunny dining area. We can’t say enough good things about the the Inn and folks at Eden Vale.”   Copied by Innkeeper.   Posted on Facebook Jan. 18, 2011
